We are looking for a Site Security Director in Washington, D.C. for a high visibility, high traffic location!

 

The Director of Security will oversee all security officers and perform constant reviews to make informed management recommendations and assess the site’s overall needs. The Director will coordinate and liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement entities regularly at this high visibility site.  This Director will plan, direct, and coordinate the daily activities of the Security department and manage Vendor relations.  The successful candidate will make recommendations and assist in the formulation of overall security goals and objectives and ensure these goals and objectives are accomplished.  The Director will design, implement, and monitor security policies, procedures, and programs. The Director will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and exercise independent judgment concerning the Security department.  This is not a remote opportunity.  A daily presence at the site will be required and some after-hours work may be necessary. 

 

Pay Range

  • Base Pay is $180,000 - $205,000 based on experience and abilities.
  • Performance bonus of up to 10% of base salary based on performance.
  • This is not a remote opportunity and daily attendance at the site in metro D.C. is required.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with the Facilities Director daily and/or weekly to report on current property conditions and present an action plan to address changing conditions, if warranted. 
  • Manage the Vendor schedule to ensure proper daily preparation and staffing for daily coverage and special events on occasion. 
  • Train and manage security staff by setting site security operational goals, regularly assessing performance, and quickly making effective corrections to performance and conduct, including retraining and employee corrective action and development plans. 
  • Work alongside Vendor security officers via foot and mobile patrol to ensure all incidents are handled timely and thoroughly. 
  • Participate in the annual budget preparation and exercise direct fiscal responsibility via cost-effective budget management. 
  • Assess, develop, and oversee the execution of security strategies and plans.  
  • Develop and deliver written documentation about safety & security plans for small, medium, and large events, as well as the typical day-to-day operations of the facility. 
  • Analyze business and global trends to determine and plan for short-term and long-term security & resiliency operational goals. 
  • Work with all levels in the organization to identify, analyze and solve problems and create opportunities for continuous improvement. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Property Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
  • Minimum of 8 years related experience in the law enforcement/security field.
  • Five years of supervisory or management experience within law enforcement (D.C. metro area preferred). 
  • Former Military or LEO preferred.
  • Combination of Law Enforcement experience at the managerial level combined with experience in Private Sector Physical Security preferred.
  • Must be computer literate with Microsoft Office.
  • WinTeam / eHub experience preferred. 
  • ADP Workforce experience preferred.
